Found park bench, plastic pigeon spikes
Hostile sits alone. It rejects, repels, rebukes and restricts.
At first glance perhaps Hostile seems inviting. It's spikes appear translucent and fluffy, a haze or aura around its solid planks. However this found park bench, once an inviting pause for walkers in urban green space, is redefined as a spiked fortress, defending itself against all users - human, animal, natural. Through its successful defence it becomes useless. It's aggressive spikes are brittle and fragile, snapping at the slightest touch. It can no longer accommodate anyone at all.
Hostile asks who decides who belongs? Where are the boundaries of defence for human protection?
