Empowering Parents in HE - new project with academic m/others at the University of Bristol

I have recently started a 6 month project with University of Bristol researchers Dr Jennifer Crane and Dr Erika Hanna as a creative extension to their existing research investigating how parents in academia are treated by the institution. I am hosting monthly creative workshops with a focus group of academic m/others, using various techniques to express issues faced as a parent in HE - from redactive poetry using policy documents and anonymised emails, to collage, happenings, temporary sculpture and activism. The workshops will inform the development of a public sculpture which will be exhibited at M Shed in July and be on permanent display the university thereafter.
