ABOUT
THE HEAT SHOP is a creative response to the current energy crisis, created by theatre director Helen Morley, designed by artist Ellie Shipman and funded by Arts Council England. The concept was conceived in 2021 as a response to the rising cost of energy - the sadly worsening crisis resulting in a prescient moment to facilitate this project.
The Heat Shop uses a creative approach to share information about the energy crisis and encourage conversations through playful performances and videos, alongside exhibiting energy saving products which can be collected by attendees for free. The project aims to build community relationships for ongoing and embedded work in Swindon and beyond. The Heat Shop intends to tour in 2023.
