Co|Create: How can we maintain our practice as socially-engaged artists?

This two-part seminar exploring the question: How can we maintain our practice as socially-engaged artists? was commissioned by Creativity Works as part of Co|Create, their support network for participatory artists. 

The session introduced my own practice and learning from a decade of facilitating participatory art projects, as well as introducing some interesting case studies from other artists around the world. We reflected on our initial answers to the titular question, as well as our hopes and fears for our social practice before creating a hypothetical project proposal from a random brief generator game. The second session culminated in a group critique where we supported and reflected on each other's ideas for new projects. 

The sessions were very well received by the artist participants from all over the UK, and people left reporting feeling inspired and more confident.
