‘iSurvive’ encouraged Year 3 children to create futuristic temporary shelters to consider climate change, design processes and the environment as part of Making Places exhibition at Pump House Gallery, Battersea, in June 2014, featuring four artists working with four local schools.

Through a series of four workshops with St George’s Primary School, the theme of ‘shelter’ was explored through learning about different environments and the types of temporary shelters often used in them.

The final creations were exhibited on the first floor of the Pump House Gallery, which included a den made by the children for each of the different environments explored – jungle, desert, water and mountains – as well as ink drawings of den designs, and interactive cards gallery visitors could add their survival tips to.
