Cutting Cords reforms my paternal grandmother's hand-stitched quilt into soft, placental forms. Some connected, some cut, padded umbilical cords twist between them.
These floor-based sculptures support a reading and play area on m/otherhood, bringing reference books from my practice and toys from my own son to create a calm and comforting space where conversations and reflections can take place around being a parent and a child.
