Hanging in the Balance, 2024 - 25
Found hand knitted baby hats, steel chain, caribiners, hollow fibre stuffing, netting
Dimensions variable - each ball roughly 80cm x 70cm x 70cm with 15m x 1cm steel chain

Hanging in the Balance collects surplus hand-knitted baby hats, lovingly donated to local hospitals but discarded before use. It explores the value of women’s labour in both birth and craft; hidden intergenerational care and the immense unknowns stemming from two cells dividing. The piece is suspended from the ceiling by steel chains, both tying down and floating the two cloud-like forms, acting as an imbalanced scale of justice.
